Kathmandu: Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has officially declared war on Israel, marking a dramatic escalation in the ongoing six-day conflict between the two nations. On Wednesday, Khamenei took to social media, stating, "War begins. We will respond strongly to the terrorist Jewish regime. We will show them no mercy."
Following his announcement, Iran launched 25 missiles targeting Israeli territory, further intensifying the already volatile situation in the Middle East.
In response to the growing tensions, U.S. President Donald Trump convened a high-level national security meeting at the White House shortly after returning from the G7 summit in Canada. The United States has since decided to deploy additional fighter jets to the Middle East, signaling potential military involvement.
Germany has also publicly expressed support for Israel, aligning itself with Western allies amid the rising hostilities.
The humanitarian toll continues to climb. According to reports:
-224 Iranians have been killed and 1,481 injured.
-A U.S.-based human rights organization has confirmed that over 400 Iraqis have also died as collateral in the regional fallout.
-In Israel, 24 people have lost their lives, with more than 600 injured as missile attacks and retaliatory strikes escalate.
As the conflict deepens and more international players weigh their positions, global attention remains fixed on whether this situation will expand into a broader regional war.
